australia road / bridget joyce square
I was commissioned by landscape architect firm Robert Bray Associates, a Bristol based firm that specialises in sustainable drainage solutions in the public realm. My brief was to document the incredible work completed on Australia Road and Bridget Joyce Square, West London.
It was an early Autumn day and I had must have experienced every conceivable weather condition throughout the day, which was incredibly useful to show off the interactive architecture designed to divert rain water onto the planting and surrounding watercourses. A full day like this one was so important to capture the ebb and flow of the day. I think I was on site from 5.30am to 6.30pm!
I was incredibly fortunate to spend the entire day on site and met some of the most wonderful parents and primary school staff. They shared their experiences of how the project had transformed their lives by creating a stronger community spirit and a sense of security and safety for their children.
Immersing myself into a project like this one was such a rewarding process and it really helped me understand the intricacies of the project itself, which in turn really helped me see and capture the details
